Speak about

1.) Speak about the advantages of being a famous person.

It is almost impossible to speak about the advantages without mentioning the disadvantages too because, in time the advantages become disadvantages and fame becomes a burden (povara). The advantages are: you are admired, appreciated, even worshiped (preamarit) by a lot of people. You meet interesting people, even people who may help you in the future, in your new projects. Fame generally goes hand in hand with high social status, financial and material prosperity. You can afford a lot of things that ordinary, average (obisnuiti) people can't afford so often, e.g.: traveling all over the world, meeting a lot of important people, getting in touch with new cultures and civilizations. You have a lot of friends, friends who want your company. You can be famous in all fields of activity e.g.: cinema, sports, art, science, politics, modeling, in everything.

2.) Speak about the disadvantages of being a famous person.

Some people can`t handle/manage fame. They don`t have a private life. They are chased by reporters, newspapermen(paparazzi), even by mentally disturbed people => that is why sometimes their life is in danger e.g.: John Lenon was killed by one of his fans. A lot of famous people leave an unbalanced, unhealthy life; to face the stress and expectations from the public they take drugs, energizing substances; some other live isolated from the world, suffering from nervous breakdown; generally fame doesn`t last forever, that is why some famous people end up in misery; they don`t have friends, a stable job, profession, financial support. e.g.: top models. This is the case of famous people who were not able to adjust to fame, to manage, to control fame. Some others, more intelligent may become even more famous; they haven`t lost their balance; they have a strong personality and were not influenced by false "friends" and temporary success.

3.) Speak about the things you do to keep fit.

To keep fit people should, first of all, have healthy eating habits; a healthy diet because, as the proverb says "we are what we eat"; we should not eat junk food, fat, sweet, salty food; on the other hand we should eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. We should practice a sport, go to the gym, to a fitness club, on trips or simply walk or swim. Sports, generally, make us more sociable, friendly, determined, balanced, and ambitious. We should avoid stress, and why not, to have an optimistic attitude towards everyday problems; we should be calm, thinking positively. We should keep a balance between work and rest; to sleep at least 7-8 hours a day, which nowadays is very difficult because we have a very busy program. We should not smoke, drink heavy drinks, and disturb our biological clock. In conclusion, to keep fit, we should try to be healthy in mind, soul and body, according to the proverb " mens sana in corpore sano".

4.) Speak about your free time activity.

Free time has a great importance in a person's life. To be healthy, to enjoy life, we should keep a balance between work and free time. Unfortunately nowadays people work even in their free time; they are stressed, tired and often sick/ill. The way in which people spend their free time depends on their age, education, preoccupation, social background. People should devote much of their time to their hobbies like: practicing sports, going on trips, gardening, collecting different things, listening to music, reading, meeting interesting people. As for me, I generally like to go on short trips, especially to the mountains; to the swimming pool, to chat on the internet, to meet my friends, to sleep. This year I haven`t had too much free time because I had to study even on weekends. Sometimes in my free time I help my parents or grandparents around the house.

5.) Speak about the experience that has taught you a positive lesson.

A proverb says that "an intelligent man learns from other people's mistakes". It is true, but unfortunately not all of us are intelligent, wise, and practical enough to do it. That is why we don`t learn anything from our mistakes and we even repeat them. We have a selective memory and try to remember only the pleasant moments that we consider quite natural. Strange enough, but the life lessons are generally generated by different moments in our life. I remember that I was on a trip with my colleagues in the mountains; we had to prepare our food; to fix our tents; to clean our place; to lit/light the campfire and to look for one of our colleagues who had lost his way in the forest and then to take care of him because he had broken one of his legs. I learned how to be useful in a team;  to have the sense of belonging; to help somebody who needs me; to control the difficult moments; to take quick decisions; not to give up; to be reliable, trustful, to have the satisfaction of a well-done job even if I was tired, hungry, scared.

6.) Speak about the way in which TV influences your life.

Both television and internet have positive and negative effects, influence on people, especially on the young people. First of all, they are a source of information and means of entertainment. Both of them are useful and we can't imagine our life without them. Besides being useful and relaxing, they have some negative effects too. E.g. they damage the eyes if they are used in excess; some TV programs and internet sites are not recommended to children and adolescents - they are too aggressive, violent, and vulgar. Some children and teenagers are very easily influenced by the negative models seen on TV or in the internet. They want to look like their "heroes", dress like them, talk like them, act like them; sometimes they want to show off and they start stealing, taking drugs, even killing. The solution is to make them understand why some TV programs or internet sites are not good for them, to discuss with them everything; it is not good to forbid children, teenagers, to watch them without any explanation, because at this age they are very curious, and they will do the opposite. As for me, I prefer the internet, the computer to television. It is more interesting. I watch only films, especially comedies on HBO TV channel. So, I can't say that TV influences, manipulates me, maybe when I was a child.

7.) Comment on the following statement: "It is much better to watch the film than read the book".

Young people read less than older people used to read. The reasons in their opinion are: they have to study too much for school and they don`t have time for reading; they consider reading boring, slow(it takes much time to read a book); they prefer to get information from the internet; most of the books are screened(ecranizate) and it is more comfortable to watch passively a film than read a book; but I think that reading is useful because it develops our imagination and creativity. On the other hand a film has the advantage of good actors, a beautiful sound-track, special effects, wonderful settings(decoruri). Many good films are based on famous books. But a good book doesn`t always make a good film. That is why we should read the book first and then see the film.

8.) Speak about drug-addiction as a threat to your life.

Indeed, drug-addiction is a threat to our life; but what makes people take drugs? One of the reasons is that they are curious, especially young people; then they want to show off or they want to be accepted by a group; some others are stressed, disappointed, lonely or simply, they are not able to face the daily problems and they take refuge in drugs as a solution. They don`t realize the effects of this addiction on their health, life. They ruin their health, life and their family`s too. They start stealing, robbing and killing, getting to prison or committing suicide. What should be done against drug addiction? First of all, people should be educated since early childhood that smoking, drinking alcohol, taking drugs is dangerous. This education, information should start in the family and then it should continue in school. There should be more nongovernmental organizations dealing with the people`s education, information about the risks of taking drugs. Last but not least the drug-dealers should be severely punished, sending them to prison.

9.) Speak about the importance of school in educating the young generation.

Education should start in the family and then it should be completed in schools. At school children are educated, instructed, informed. School is a small community that functions after its own rules and the general rules of the society. Children learn how to socialize, how to respect rules, how to get in touch with different people, how to face their daily problems, to communicate, to take decisions easily, to evaluate their own results, to be responsible. I think that school should deal more with the real problems of the society, with its practical aspects. Nowadays, unfortunately, education in schools is more and more replaced by the so-called (asa-numita) "education" made by television and internet and sometimes by the street and the "gang" of friends, mostly false friends. They have a negative impact on children, adolescents and destroy what pupils got at school. I have graduated "T.V. Technical College" and I am proud of it. I spent 4 beautiful years in this high school and I can`t believe that they have passed so quickly. I will never forget my colleagues and teachers, what I learned here, the beautiful moments spent together.

10.) Speak about your favorite season and justify your choice.

Well, it is very difficult to choose a season because all the seasons are beautiful and they have something special. Nowadays we can`t even speak about 4 seasons because pollution influenced, changed the climate; we have a global warming and 2 seasons: summer & winter. It is a pity because nature and people need all the 4 seasons. In spring I like to take long walks in the parks with my friends and enjoy the beautiful flowers and the trees in blossom (infloriti). We have the Easter Holiday and everybody is happy. The whole nature comes to life again, the people too. In summer we have the opportunity to go on trips to the seaside, to the mountains or to the country-side. We are on holiday and we can rest and have a lot of fun. Autumn brings us fruits and vegetables and nice colors in nature. School begins. This autumn, I will be a student, I hope. So, I can hardly wait for autumn to come. I like winter too, because I like winter sports and Christmas. So, all the seasons are interesting; it depends on us how we enjoy them.

11.) Speak about a person you consider a role model and justify your choice.

Children need models in life. The first models are their parents. Later on, they choose some other models too: some relatives, neighbours, teachers, and friends; in adolescence they try to copy famous, successful people like sportsmen, singers, actors politicians, businessmen. Parents have a strong influence on the personality of their children, on their life. They learn from their parents how to behave in society, how to communicate, how to do their job, their duty, how to take decisions, how to make a difference between bad and good. I admire my father/mother because he/she is intelligent, hardworking, ambitious, calm, modest, correct and generous, he/she never gives up in front of the hardship(greutati) of life. He/she is a model to follow. It is good to have somebody to rely on (a te bizui). He/she is always ready to help me, to give me some good advice. He/she has the sense of humor and the patience to discuss with me everything; he/she is my father/mother and my friend too; but he/she is objective in judging me and he/she criticizes me when I deserve it.

12.)Speak about smoking as a threat to  your life.

Smoking, drug-addiction, alcohol are a real threat to our life. Why do people smoke? Children, adolescents smoke because they are curious, because it is  a new experience for them; they want to show off, to be accepted by a group; to kill time, because they are bored; to calm down, to relax when they are nervous, or simply because they don't know what to do with their hands; smoking is generally associated to coffee and alcohol drinking. There are active smokers, but the people who are around them, who don't smoke are the so-called passive smokers, who are also affected by smoking. Smoking has some negative effects: it produces cancer, especially lung cancer; high blood pressure; it changes the color of the skin, teeth, the voice of the people who smoke ; not to mention the unpleasant smell; it is an expensive habit. What should be done against it? First of all people should be educated, informed about the risks of being both active and passive smokers. Smoking should be forbidden in all the public places, without any exception. People who break the rules and the law should pay fines(amenzi) or work for the benefit of the community they work, study and live in. There should be an effective medical cure/treatment against smoking.

13.) If you were to choose between your computer and your mobile phone, which would you choose?

Well, it`s a quite difficult choice, because I like them both, I need them both. They are very useful in our everyday activities. You can communicate; you can get in touch with different people. Maybe I would choose the mobile phone because I can take it with me wherever I go, even at school, but I don`t use it during classes. If it`s a performant one, it can do the job of a computer and internet too. Moreover, it can take photos too. The mobile phone is accessible to the average/ordinary people, while not all the people can afford, at least nowadays, to have a computer and to be connected to an internet network. The mobile phone can successfully replace the usual phone; on the other hand, the computer can be replaced by laptop. So both the computer and the mobile phone are 2 important devices of the 20th century.

14.) Comment on: "Children should have the same jobs as their parents".

I think that children should make their own decision about their future job. People who have jobs that they don`t like are very unhappy, even if they are well paid. Indeed, there is a tradition in some families that children should have the same jobs as their parents, so the children are not asked about their opinions. E.g. lawyers, doctors etc. the problems start when the children don`t like the jobs, or they are not fit for them. On the other hand, they have the advantage of having a model in their family, a lot of information about the job of the financial and material basis. So, parents should advise their children and not to force/oblige them to choose a certain job. It should be chosen according to the child`s abilities, capacities and wishes, and why not personality.

15.) Speak about the present you would like to get for your birthday.

Well, I have to confess that I like to get presents, but I like to give presents too. I think that the most important is not the material value of a present but its spiritual value; the person we got the present from, the way in which it has been given to us, the moment, when it has been given. A very nice birthday present for me is the fact that a lot of friends and other people whom I care about are there with me, in those moments. The fact that we sing together, dance, make jokes, talk is the nicest present I like to get for my birthday. It doesn`t mean that they don`t bring me presents, but they know my likes and dislikes and they try to choose the presents according to these criteria.

16.) Speak about the last time you went to a disco or a party.

I don`t really go to disco clubs because I don`t like the atmosphere, the music, the background. Unfortunately in our town there are not disco-clubs for pupils and students who have the same preoccupations, interests, who would like a clean, nice place, with other types of music than "manele", a place for young people who are a little bit more demanding. So, the last time when I went to a party was one of my classmate`s birthday party. He turned 18. It was a nice party. Almost all the colleagues were present. We had a lot of fun together: we listened to music, sang a lot, danced and made jokes. Our colleague was very touched by the moment and we were happy for him. The party lasted a whole night without any incident. Nobody exaggerated, nobody disturbed the atmosphere, drinking too much or quarrelling (a se certa). We "fought" only with the cream from the birthday cake. We said goodbye to our childhood, adolescence and entered a new period of our life, maturity. We were happy but at the same time a little bit sad because everything that is fine passes so quickly.

17.) Speak about the importance of turning 18.

I think that childhood and adolescence are the most beautiful periods in a person`s life. Turning 18, being a mature person is nice too, but it implies (implica) responsibilities too. Legally, psychologically, physically, at 18 a person is considered a mature person in our country, a responsible member of a community. In other countries the age differs. It depends on the traditions of each country. First of all you have to take decisions by yourself, to assume the responsibility and the consequences of your decisions; sometimes, including the punishment too. There are some advantages, anyway: e.g. you can work legally, you can travel alone abroad, you can live alone, rent a house, a room, you can marry and get a driving-license etc. Now I am a mature person, but my parents still consider me a child, sometimes.

18.) Speak about somebody famous you admire very much.

Well, I admire Bill Gates very much. I consider him one of the greatest personalities of our time. He is the founder of the Microsoft® Company one of the biggest and strongest companies dealing with computers. In spite of the fact that he is not old, he is the richest person in the world. He has visited our country this year and I have recently seen an interview on TV with him. I was impressed by his modesty. He was a poor young man, but very intelligent, ambitious, inventive and hard-working. He had his first work-shop in a garage. Now he has a real empire. The American Government wants to divide his company because they consider that it is not good that the world of computers is dominated by one company.

19.) Describe your room.

Well, my room is my kingdom, my world. I think it represents me on one hand, and on the other it is the typical room of an adolescent, of a young person. It has a simple but modern wardrobe with my clothes in it; a table for my computer, a chair at my table, 2 small armchairs, a bed, 4 bookshelves; a CD-player; the walls are painted yellow; the carpet has all kinds of brown shades; the furniture is brown too; the curtain is white; I have 2 beautiful plants too, but sometimes I forget to water them. On the wall I have posters with my favorite sportsmen, actors, singers. Generally, I clean my room but when I don`t have time, my mother does it for me. I spend a lot of time in my room, so I like to keep it tidy. I think that my room reflects my personality, my character, the fact that I am an active, energetic person who likes sports, fresh air and order.

20.) Speak about the way in which you spend your week-ends.

Free time has a great importance in a person's life. To be healthy, to enjoy life, we should keep a balance between work and free time. Unfortunately nowadays people work even in their free time, they are stressed, tired and often sick/ill. The way in witch people spend their free time depends on their age, education, preoccupation, social background.

21.) Speak about the country you would like to visit.

I like travelling very much. I would like to see a lot of places in Romania and abroad too. I think that all the places have something special, unique. Sometimes I watch "Travel" channel because it presents places that maybe I will never have the opportunity to visit, to see them with my own eyes. I would like to visit Italy, Spain, England first and then other European countries. I would like to visit Spain because of the beautiful traditions, nice people, good food. I would visit the beautiful cathedrals; I would go to a bullfight, the famous "corrida", I would dance flamenco, their national dance, and naturally, I would go to a football match. Then I would go to another Latin country, Italy to visit the museums, the cathedrals, to sail in a gondola in Venice, to eat pizza; to Milano to a fashion show, to the famous Scalla Opera House, to Rome to see Traianus Column, in Vatican to see the Pope and, as in Spain, to see a football match. Last but not least I would visit England, first of all because I like English language very much, then I like English football, sports, generally I would go to see the British Museum, The Buckingham Palace, The English Parliament, The Tower of London, St. Paul`s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Madame Tussand`s Gallery of wax figures, to Cambridge and Oxford. All the 3 countries have great culture and civilizations and nice people.

22.) Choose a building you like (or dislike) in your town and describe it.

Oradea is an old and beautiful town. It has been a city since the 13th century. Most of the buildings are built in Baroque and Secession styles. In the past it was called "little Vienna", because of the buildings. Now the town is dirty and polluted because the people and the local authorities don`t take care of it. Most of the old buildings should be renovated. It is difficult for me to choose a building because there are so many beautiful, interesting places in Oradea, worth visiting and speaking about, e.g. The Church with the Moon, The Black Eagle Passage Way, the Theatre, The Baroque Palace, old churches and cathedrals. The Church with the Moon was built in 1790 in Baroque and Neoclassical styles. On the walls there are impressive frescoes representing different biblical scenes. We can also see Horea`s portrait, one of the great Romanian historical figures. The church is also famous for its device showing the phases of the moon. Another beautiful building is the Baroque Palace (formerly the "Tarii Crisurilor" Museum), built in 1762, in late Baroque style. The palace is surrounded by an old park, with unique trees, like the famous magnolia trees. I dislike the way in which the main street of Oradea was renovated, and the railway station building, that is almost a ruin now.

23.) Comment on the following statement: "Music is very important in a one's life".

Indeed, music is very important for us. Shakespeare says that "the man who doesn't have music in his soul, the man who doesn't like music, can hurt everybody". Music can change our soul; can make us a loving, tender, better person. Music expresses our feelings without even using words. Music has always had an enormous effect/impact on people's life. We listen to music in the most important moments of our life: When we are happy, sad, angry, in fact all the time. Music is also used as a medical treatment in mental clinics, or as energizer for animals and plants. Music is one of the 7 arts and it is the oldest of them. All the people like music irrespective of their education, job, age, preoccupations. But there is a gap/difference between the musical tastes of the young generations and the older ones. Young people enjoy listening to disco, rap, rock, techno, house music etc. while the adults prefer classical music, jazz or folk music. Young people try to imitate their favorite singers in their lifestyle, behaviors, language, and clothing. Sometimes it has a negative effect, because some "idols" take drugs, use vulgar language and are violent/aggressive.

24.) Speak about a film actor/actress you greatly admire.

It is very difficult to speak about only one actor or actress that I like best because there are a lot of actors that/whom I like very much. Generally people watch a movie for a different reason : for the story/ the script, for the sound track, for the special effects and last but not least for the actors that play in the film. As I am supposed to speak only about one actor I would choose .... I have seen a lot of films with him/her. I like him/her not only because he is handsome/she is pretty but also because he/she is intelligent, talented, hardworking, ambitious, and modest even if he/she is famous. I have read that he/she had some problems in his/her private life but he/she managed to solve them. I also appreciate he/she can play in different types of movies. I think that it is not easy to be famous because you don't have a private life, real friends, you are chased everywhere by fans and newspapermen. Fame may be a "burden" sometimes. My favorite film in which he/she played is ..... It is about ..

25.) Speak about the way in which you parents have brought you up.

Parents have a strong influence on their children's life. That is why they should be always positive models for their children. Most parents love their children, care about them and try to help them in forming a complex, strong personality. Education at an early age is very important because children try to copy their parents. The parent who has a stronger personality has a stronger influence on his child. In adolescence people don't simply copy their parents; they are able to choose a model. Both my parents have had a strong influence on me. I appreciate both of them and I am grateful to them for what they did for me. They tried to do their best to make all my dreams come true but they punished me when I was wrong. I appreciate the fact that my parents have always taken me seriously: they have always asked for my opinions, ideas; they have always accepted my opinions, if they were motivated, even if they were different than their opinions. We have always been a united family; they have always told me about their problems, I have always told them about mine. We have never had secrets; we have always trusted each other. It is good to know that you have somebody ready to help you when you are in need. There has always been communication between us. In fact, they are not only my parents they are my friends too. I would like to be like them: honest, sincere, correct, trustful, friendly, sociable, objective, hard-working, to have the sense of humor. I hope I will not disappoint them.

26.) Speak about the positive aspects of using the internet.

The internet is one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century. The internet is a tool used in all fields of activity. It is a source of information. It is a means of communication. It is one of the 4 forms of mass media together with the press, the TV, and radio. You can buy and sell things on the internet; you can read the press and any book you want; you can find a job on the internet or work on the internet; you can play games; you can download almost everything: games, movies, music; you can advertise; pay your taxes, make different banking operations; you can find out the weather forecast, you can make new friends, but they are virtual friends, not real friends. There are some disadvantages too: too long use of the internet produces addiction; too many hours in front of the internet/computer can damage your eyes; the codes can be broken by hackers; the database is not always safe. Some sites are dangerous having a negative influence especially on children. The virtual friends are not always trustful; the computers can be virused. With all these advantages and disadvantages, we can't imagine our future without computer and internet.

27.) Speak about one family tradition that you like.

I like Christmas and Easter traditions. We have very beautiful traditions connected to these 2 religious holidays. We celebrate both Easter and Christmas for 3 days. Before these religious holidays we keep the lent by eating only products that are not of animal origin, we go to church and pray for the forgiveness of our sins and ask the Almighty God to help us. My mother prepares specific food and the rest of the family decorates the Christmas Tree waiting for Santa Claus and the presents; at Easter we eat lamb and paint the eggs red waiting for the Easter Bunny. We sing Christmas carols at Christmas; at Easter we go to church at midnight and sing songs about Jesus resurrection and break the eggs saying : "Jesus has resurrected". I have to point out that both Christmas and Easter are a family reunion for us, on the first day of celebration. Only on the second and third day we wait for guests and visit other people.

28.) Speak about the responsibility of heaving a pet.

According to the dictionaries, a pet is "an animal or bird that you keep in your home and look after". More and more people have pets irrespective of(indiferent de) their age, education, social status, main preoccupation. People have a large variety of pets from simple cats, dogs to expensive, exotic animals and birds. Why do people have pets? Simply because they like animals, they feel lonely and the pet can keep their company, or because they are bored. Some people consider that pets are friendlier, sincere, loyal than a lot of people. These are the people who can`t socialize easily. Doctors recommend a pet to people who have mental problems; taking care of a pet is like a medical treatment: e.g.: walking, feeding a dog every day. But some pet owners exaggerate, eating from the same plate with the pet, sleeping in the same bad etc. because there are some diseases that can be transmitted to people too. Some people say that the pet owners are selfish because they think only of themselves, of their pleasure, taking an animal or a bird from its natural habitat, environment and keeping it in a cage or in an apartment, anyway, an artificial background. So, people have the responsibility of taking care of their pets trying to make them, as much it is possible, a good, natural place to leave in, respecting their habits and not forcing them to live like in a prison.

29.) Speak about the happiest day in your life.

Well, it is extremely difficult to speak about the happiest day in my life, simply because till now I have had a lot of happy, beautiful moments in my life. I am an optimistic person who tries to think positively, to see the good parts in everything. I can be happy for every day successes that make our life more pleasant. I try to find joy, pleasure in every minute, moment of our busy, sometimes boring life. So, I can be happy because me and my parents are healthy, when I meet and interesting person; when my favourite team wins a game; when the weather is fine and I can go on a trip; when I am together with the people I like; when I get good results at school; when I drive my car because I have got my driving license, when I buy clothes that I like; there are so many reasons to be happy, it is up to us/it depends on us whether(if) we realize it or not. I hope I will be happy after the graduation exam and the entrance examination at the university. I am still waiting for the happiest day of my life.

30.) Comment on the following statement: "Mobile phones should not be allowed in schools".

Mobile phones are"smart" tools that can do a lot of things; they are useful means of communication; they can take photos, do the job of an internet network; you can listen to music on the cell-phone etc. Mobile phones should be allowed in schools because pupils can communicate with their parents if an emergency occurs (apare). The problem is that they use the mobile phones during the classes in this way they are not attentive and disturb other pupils too; they play games, cheat during the tests, listen to music or take photos, disturbing the lesson. Unfortunately, school is not the only public place where the mobile phones are used improperly e.g.: at the theatre, in concert halls, during university lectures, conferences, in hospitals, exhibitions; people speak loudly not taking into consideration the other people around them. What should be done? Children and teenagers, generally, the cell-phone owners should be told, informed about the rules they have to obey when they are in public institutions. For example, pupils who don`t respect these rules, including the use of mobile phones should be forbidden to bring them to school and should pay fines(amenzi). Only those pupils who break the rules, should not be allowed to use mobiles phones in schools.

31.) Comment on: "cars should be banned from the city centre"

Cars are a permanent source of air pollution no matter how modern they are, what fuel they use. They are a source of sonic pollution too, by the noise they produce. They contribute to the global warming, the green-house effect. There are more and more cars and the towns are not prepared for such a heavy traffic, especially the old, small towns. In time, the local roads, the buildings, are destroyed by the impact of this heavy traffic. Generally, the city-center is the most beautiful part of a town. There are the most important buildings, monuments, representative institutions of a town. That is why they should be protected against all the polluting factors, including cars. Take for example Oradea. We have a very beautiful center with a lot of old buildings build in Baroque and Secession styles, some statues of famous historical figures and men of culture; the streets are too narrow(inguste) for the traffic we have in the city center. The solution would be to forbid cars especially lorries(camioane) to use the streets in the centre of the city. The buildings are already damaged because of the trepidations and smoke, smog produced by the cars. A highway should be made outside the town to avoid all these damages. We have only one street in Oradea, the main street in which the cars have been banned and the pedestrians(pietoni) can walk freely, but that`s not enough. Unfortunately it has been renovated recently without any success because the changes don`t fit into the old, elegant style of the town.

32.) Comment on: "good manners seem to be out of fashion nowadays".

Good manners are a set of written and unwritten rules about how to behave in society.  Some rules change according to the changes in society but some remain the same. Good manners should be taught (invatate) in family since early childhood and then completed in school; good manners should be used not only in official meetings but in our daily life activities too; good manners are a sign of self respect and also respect for the people around us. If you are a good-mannered person it doesn`t mean that you are an old-fashioned, weak person. Unfortunately, nowadays, you are in fashion only if you are tough(dur) , rude, impolite; it is available only among(printre) uneducated, superficial people who believe that behaving like this, they are strong, they are winners, they can get what they want, ignoring other people. So, good manners seem to be out of fashion nowadays, because people don`t have patience and time to care about the people around them.

33.) Comment on: "School uniforms shouldn't be compulsory".

I think that school uniforms should be compulsory, because there are more advantages than disadvantages of wearing school uniform. If the uniform is chosen by the pupils and it is a nice, modern uniform, it may be a reason to be proud of being a pupil of a certain school; the differences in social status disappear; there is no competition in the way pupils are dressed; pupils feel equal from this point of view; it is good for the security of the school too: it is easier to notice the strangers who enter the school; it gives you the sense of belonging to a community. We should admit that there are some disadvantages too, e.g.: it is too boring to be dressed in the same clothes all the time; it gets dirty easily wearing it every day. But all in all, a uniform is meant not to hide, to cover a person`s personality; on the contrary, the same uniform is worn differently by all the pupils, according to their personality.
