Subjunctive "That - Clauses" and Alternative Constructions
IIn subordinate clauses after verbs expressing:
1. order: to order
request: to request, (a cere), to require (a necesita), to ask
recommandation: to urge, to advise, to recommend
hope: to want, to desire
intention: to intent
we can use the following possible constructions:
a) He ordered the crew to abandon the ship.
The accusative + infinitive:
b) He ordered that the crew should abandon the ship.
Subject 1 + verb + that + subject 2 + analytical subjunctive (should + short infinitive)

c) He ordered that the crew abandon the ship.
(American English)
II After the verbs: to decide, to determine, to make up one's mind, to demand, the following constructions are possible:
1. They decided that the meeting should be held without delay.
Subject + verb + that + analytical subjunctive (should + short infinitive)

2. They decided that the meeting be held without delay.
(American English)
3. They decide / decided that the meeting will / would be held without delay.
IIIAfter adjectives: to be eager, to be anxious, to be glad, and after verbs: to plan, to arrange, to leave word the following constructions are possible:
1. She is anxious for them to see her dancing. = Este nerabdatoare ca ei sa o vada dansand.
2. She is anxious that they should see her dancing.
Subject 1 + verb (+adjective) + that + subject 2 + analytical subjunctive (should + short infinitive)

IVAfter the verbs to suggest and to propose the following constructions are possible:
He suggested that they left at once (Past tense)
suggests that they leave at once (Present tense)
He suggested/suggests that they should leave at once (Analytical subjunctive)
that they leave at once (Synthetical subjunctive)
Subject 1 + verb + that + subject 2 + present tense
past tense
should + infinitive
short infinitive
V After the verb to insist the following constructions are possible:
He insists that I stay overnight (present tense)
He insisted that I stayed overnight (past tense)
He insists / insisted that I should stay overnight (analytical subjunctive)
that I stay overnight (synthetical subjunctive)
He insists / insisted on my staying overnight / on Mary's staying overnight.
VI After the verb to agree the following constructions are possible:
My mother agrees / agreed that I should take up engineering.
that I take up engineering.
